Privacy Policy

Anything's Fine is operated by Cheers Social LLC. It helps a household plan meals and shop for groceries. We collect only what the app needs to do that. We do not run ads, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. This policy explains, in plain language, what we store, who helps us run the service, and how to delete your account and data.

What we collect

Your account email. Used to sign you in and to send a verification code when you create an account. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple provides your email address to us.
Your name and color in a household. The display name and color you choose so other members can see who added or claimed something.
The content you create. Your recipes, meal plans, the nights each person claims, your store layout, shopping lists, and the trip totals you record.
Photos you scan — only while we read them. When you import a recipe from a photo, the image is sent for text recognition and the transcribed text is returned to you. We do not keep a copy of the photo. See “Recipe photos” below.

What we do NOT collect

No analytics or usage tracking.
No advertising, and no ad or marketing trackers.
No marketing email — we only email you verification codes.
No third-party crash-reporting or telemetry SDKs.
No location data, contacts, or device identifiers for tracking.

Recipe photos

When you scan a recipe, the app shrinks the image on your device and sends it to our recipe-reading service, which uses Anthropic's Claude to transcribe the text. We keep only a one-way fingerprint (a hash) of the image and the transcribed text — so re-scanning the same photo is instant and free. The photo itself is never stored on our servers. The image is processed by Anthropic in order to transcribe it; their handling of it is governed by Anthropic's own policies. The original photo remains on your device unless you delete it there.

Who helps us run the service

We use a small number of service providers, each only for the purpose listed:

Supabase — our database and sign-in system. Stores your account, household, recipes, plans, and lists.
Apple — Sign in with Apple, when you choose it.
Anthropic — transcribes recipe photos you choose to scan (text recognition only).
Resend — sends the account-verification email.
Cloudflare — hosts this website and routes email sent to our support address.
Expo / EAS — builds and delivers app updates.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone except these providers as needed to operate the app.

Households are shared

A household is meant for a small, trusted group. Every member can see and edit the household's recipes, plans, and lists, and can invite others. If you share a household, the things you add are visible to the other members.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time, from inside the app, in a couple of taps (see Support). Deleting your account:

Removes your sign-in account and your membership in any household.
Deletes a household that only you belong to, along with its recipes, plans, and lists.
If you share a household with others, that household and its content stay with the remaining members (so their data isn't lost), and your name is detached from anything you had added.

Two things aren't tied to your account and remain after deletion: the anonymous fingerprint and transcribed text from recipe scans (kept as a shared cache, not linked to you), and a record that a scan occurred within a household (with your identity removed). Neither identifies you.

Data stored on your device

So you can shop with no signal, the app stores your current shopping list — its items and what you've checked off — on your phone. Your recipes and plans are not stored on the device; they load from our servers when you open them. Your sign-in session is also kept on the device.

Signing out removes your sign-in session from the device. Your on-device shopping list is cleared when you finish a shopping trip, and uninstalling the app removes all data stored on your device.

Children

Anything's Fine is a general-audience app for household meal planning. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
